What do you love to do?

I was inspired by a recent encounter with a friend. Given his interest in bicycles I dropped off my bike with him to check out a non functioning cadence sensor. I have had many discussions with him regarding these 2 wheeled contraptions and he volunteered to take a look at it for me. A day later I picked it up and to my shock the bicycle was not only fixed but it was cleaned, and not just cleaned but it looked brand new.

He informed me that he had the time so he pretty much scrubbed it down from stem to stern. He went into every crevice and cleared out anything that would hinder the cycle’s performance. He tied up any tiny loose ends of wires and scrubbed the chain down too, lubing it as well. He checked all the other sensors and levels and tuned the brakes too. The bicycle was ready for its next ride ( and probably for the next 100 rides too). It must have taken him hours to do this.

So as I heard him tell me about his exploits, I could feel a very powerful energy that was emanating from him. It was coming from his heart. He loved doing “bicycle things”. He did not “have “ to do any of it, but he did them because he loves anything and everything to do with bicycles. His knowledge in this matter is profound. He has read almost every research article out there on bicycles and knows every little screw and nuance about this vehicle and for every possible model. He will spend hours just dismantling and reassembling bicycles because he loves them.

This is not just a passion or a hobby, but an inspired action. He loves teaching about bicycles, maintenance and how to ride a bicycle to all levels of learners. In fact he has even built many a bike on his own. The point is that when we love something, we will weather the challenges and the suffering to master a craft and then perform it with enthusiasm and love. It clearly showed in his case.

When we reach that level of mastery, our love for that subject or field radiates outward. There is a certain glow, a magic that can be felt and seen by all. The key is to be able to get to that level. But first we are invited to know with certainty what it is that we truly love to be and do.

It is a divine connection of soul and earthly manifested purpose. For me it is teaching and writing about all matters of the heart, medicine, healing and health right from cardiology to mind body medicine and metaphysics. I absolutely love anything and everything to do with the mind, body and spirit.

Living inspired is the only way to live, for everything else is a lower frequency that drains our energies and life force.

What is it that you love so much so that you are willing to move heaven and earth to live that love and share it with the world?

…………….

I love you
