Walking with friends I saw this little shrubbery growing in the cement rock.

I felt its pain and suffering. Away from its home its loneliness, its struggle.

The harsh environment of stomping travelers, the fierce weather.

Most of us did not grow up with a silver spoon in our mouths. We may have had hard upbringings, or dealt with tough families or being bullied in school or had rough living situations.

Some of us have had terrible heart breaks in relationships, or had to work hard in our careers or jobs. We all in some fashion have been like weeds. Pushing through the world and growing up in those barely surviving situations.

Growing up in Kuwait as a kid I had my fair share of bullying and torments yet balanced out with a nourishing environment of family. Soon to only lose my home and almost life, escaping through the deserts of warn torn Iraq and Kuwait. It has been an uphill battle for me growing up, yet I too like the weed pushed through to achieve my dreams and goals.

Yet just like the weed we one day flower and blossom and come into our season of thriving and not just surviving. Just like the weed, we push through the darkness and the rough soil of our surroundings to discover who we are.

We do this with the innate understanding of the evolution of nature, and as part of nature we push or struggle through and execute our ideas, hopes and dreams. This little shrubbery had a little voice that said it could and so it did.

Trust your little voice within, that says that you can make something out of your life, and then go do it.

I love you
