I am pleased to announce that I was able to complete my one month diet plan in less than 24 hours.
Let that sink in.
Most diets will not get you where you want to go and most of them are non sustaining in the long term. Sure there are short term gains. Abs, butt, looks, but these are not without consequences on ones mood, psychology, physiology, hormone cycles and overall organ health. In some cases long term dire results. Most diets propagate because we see someone else doing it or word of mouth at home, at work, at the gym, in the neighborhood, on social media forums, advertisements, TV, magazines etc.
So what does one do ? How does one shift to what they ” want to look like”?
Well in my opinion that is the wrong question. The ponderance should be more ” How do I want to feel in 1 month 3 month, 6 month, 1 year, 5 years, 10 years…?” As at each stage we vary our goals and what we want to be able to accomplish and feel like depending on our age, responsibilities, life challenges etc.
Then with proper planning and balanced nutrition and functional fitness look at all the other parameters in our lives that may influence it such as other ailments, sleep schedules, mental health and so on. In this way to be able to plan ahead and accordingly. Much like financial planning !! After all your health is your greatest asset. You may have heard adages such as” if you dont have your health you dont have anything” or ” health is more important than money” All true statements.
Yet I find that if you ask yourself ” WHY do I want to change who, what and how I am ?” Will serve you better. What value are you holding on to the external version of yourself to which you are attempting to bend towards.? What fantasy are you being drawn to or nightmare are you escaping from ?
Diets dont work. Period. Long term Lifestyle modifications though…. well that is a different story for another post.
……………….
I love you
